Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead our truck fabrication and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and manufacturing processes, extensive knowledge of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, and proven leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires hands-on management, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to lead a skilled team to meet quality, safety, and production goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the truck fabrication and assembly shop.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
  • Supervise and support production staff, welders, and assembly technicians.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency in all fabrication processes.
  • Monitor and improve welding and fabrication procedures to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, including hydraulic system installations and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality control teams.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in truck fabrication, welding, and manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, including chassis layouts, drivetrain configurations, and upfitting procedures.
  • Proficient in MIG/TIG welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems: installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Shop floor and office environment.
  • Requires standing, walking, lifting, and occasional work in outdoor or elevated environments.
