Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead our truck fabrication and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and manufacturing processes, extensive knowledge of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, and proven leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires hands-on management, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to lead a skilled team to meet quality, safety, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the truck fabrication and assembly shop.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
- Supervise and support production staff, welders, and assembly technicians.
- Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency in all fabrication processes.
- Monitor and improve welding and fabrication procedures to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, including hydraulic system installations and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality control teams.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Provide technical training and mentorship to team members.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in truck fabrication, welding, and manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, including chassis layouts, drivetrain configurations, and upfitting procedures.
- Proficient in MIG/TIG welding and fabrication techniques.
- Experience with hydraulic systems: installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Proven leadership and team management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Shop floor and office environment.
- Requires standing, walking, lifting, and occasional work in outdoor or elevated environments.
